In an increasingly global world, new technology is working to make it easier for travelers from around the world to find comfort during their stay far from home. Urban Translations is hoping to be one of those tools. The digital menu software provider allows guests to order amenities and food in their preferred language from their guestroom or a hotel restaurant. Through a partnership with Samsung Electronics, the Urban Translations software is available to hoteliers on a tablet with a mobile security platform. Various resorts and entertainment venues are implementing this kind of tech as a cost-effective solution for conveniently serving guests from around the world.
The software enables guests to easily order menu items and amenities in any language on Samsung tablets in-room, at restaurants, and other entertainment venues—whether used for room service, spa, golf, restaurant reservations, merchandise, or show tickets. The Samsung/Urban Translations partnership comes at a time when the industry is seeking new ways to attract millennials.
“Samsung is a tremendous partner, providing high-performance and cost-effective hardware for our software, which creates a mutually beneficial relationship between us and our clients,” said Urban Translations CEO Samantha Urban. “By leveraging Samsung’s Knox platform, we enhanced our system’s security and capabilities. We’ve combined this with the analytics we capture from what guests care about the most, and it results in our clients’ being more efficient and profitable.”
The Samsung Knox platform is defense-grade mobile security built into the company’s latest devices. Urban Translations has incorporated it to enable more customization and a better guest experience, as well as ensure greater security than off-the-shelf tablets and iPads. Gregg Ostrowski, vice president of Samsung Enterprise Services, said: “Leveraging our Knox™ platform for improved security, and running on proven Samsung hardware, Urban Translations’ clients will benefit from a cost-effective solution that delivers results.”
