CoStar: U.S. Hotel Performance Continues to Follow Seasonal Patterns

WASHINGTON—Following seasonal patterns, U.S. hotel performance declined from the previous week but showed positive comparisons year over year, according to CoStar’s latest data through August 26, 2023.

Percentage change from comparable week in 2022:
Occupancy: 65.0 percent (up 0.4 percent)
ADR: $150.23 (up 1.7 percent)
RevPAR: $97.62 (up 2.1 percent)

Among the Top 25 Markets, Las Vegas saw the largest year-over-year occupancy increase (up 7.9 percent to 76.3 percent).

Houston posted the highest ADR (up 10.5 percent to $112.08) and RevPAR (up 17.8 percent to $64.45) increases.

Miami saw the steepest RevPAR decline (down 11.0 percent to $102.75).

Of note, outside of the Top 25 Markets, Maui Island reported higher performance from the week prior but still showed significant year-over-year declines in occupancy (down 17.1 percent to 53.6 percent) and RevPAR (down 26.7 percent to $271.21).
