NORFOLK, Va.—The Norfolk Waterside Marriott recently revamped its guestrooms, Concierge Lounge, guest corridors, and lobby as part of a $4.5 million makeover.
The hotel initiated the first phase of renovations in Dec. 2012 starting with each of the 397 guestrooms. These renovations added new furnishings including carpets, wall vinyl, lighting, window treatments, desk chairs, soft seating, and new closet and bathroom doors. The Piano Lounge, now the Great Room, underwent a complete face lift in the second phase, receiving new work areas and reflecting a sophisticated, yet hip, vibe.
The final phase of renovation included the hotel’s lobby. Unique artwork featuring three dimensional tiles by world renowned Providence, RI, artist Coral Bourgeois is now displayed behind the front desk. Each of the custom-made tiles, colors and arrangements of the display was handpicked by the artist and represents timeless elegance.
The hotel offers amenities such as a fitness center with an indoor pool, cardiovascular equipment and free weights, as well as fine dining at Shula’s 347, the hotel’s on-site restaurant.
