NEW YORK—Courtyard by Marriott celebrated the grand opening of its new hotel, located in Herald Square in midtown Manhattan. The hotel is owned by Hidrock Realty and managed by Marriott International.
The hotel’s official ribbon cutting was led by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, Mayor of the City of New York; David Marriott, COO – The Americas, Eastern Region, Marriott International; the hotel’s owner, Jack Hidary, CEO – Hidrock Realty, and George Fertitta, CEO of NYC and Company, the city’s marketing and tourism organization.
The 16-story hotel is housed in the former Atlantic Bank of New York building that was built in 1928 and features an indoor/outdoor rooftop lounge, a fitness center, guest laundry, and offers 500 square feet of meeting space.
Dining options include The Bistro at Courtyard offering casual, flexible seating, and The Market, a 24/7 shop for snacks, beverages and sundries.
Throughout the hotel, guests can connect to complimentary Wi-Fi, and there are ample electrical outlets in the lobby to power digital devices. The business library features several computer terminals, along with a printer and separate computer stations dedicated solely to printing airline boarding passes and checking flight status.
