Wyndham Garden Brand Makes Brooklyn Debut

PARSIPPANY, N.J.—Wyndham Hotel Group today announced the expansion of its Wyndham Garden flag in New York City to four properties with the opening of a newly constructed, 70-room hotel in Brooklyn, the brand’s first location in the borough.

Situated in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood, the contemporary hotel is within 20 miles of the area’s three international airports, two subway stops from Downtown Manhattan, and minutes away from top Brooklyn destinations including Coney Island, the Barclays Center, and the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal.

Wyndham Garden Brooklyn Sunset Park becomes the seventh Wyndham Garden hotel to open globally in 2015, five of which have opened in the U.S. It joins two sister hotels in Manhattan and one in Long Island City, Queens; another location is scheduled to open in 2016 in the Rego Park area of Queens.

“Brooklyn continues to grow in popularity for visiting tourists looking for a truly authentic New York experience in one of the most dynamic and sought-after cities in the world for travel,” said Duane Elledge, brand president for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. “We’re proud to introduce the Wyndham Garden brand, which promises to deliver a quality product, great value and the utmost in service, to Brooklyn and look forward to becoming a part of its thriving community.”

Each guest floor at Wyndham Garden Brooklyn Sunset Park has been designed to reflect one of four seasons—winter, spring, summer, and autumn—with complementing color schemes. Guestrooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of Brooklyn or the Manhattan skyline, wall murals inspired by the seasonal themes, custom-made furnishings, an ergonomic work area, and free wireless internet access. Bathrooms have marble floors and counters, glass-enclosed showers, and Blue Harmony bath amenities.

The hotel, owned by 457 Hotel Group and designed by Horst Design International, was conceptualized with a focus on contemporary decor, with decorative wall art, modern furniture, and tile and stone surfaces found throughout the property. Its metal-clad façade is lit each night with concealed LED lighting encapsulating each window.

The on-site Constantine Restaurant & Bar serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and guests can enjoy cocktails and light fare at the hotel’s lounge. Additional hotel offerings include a business center, airport shuttle services, and an on-site car rental desk.
