In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, several hospitality industry conferences have postponed or gone virtual with events, while others are moving forward with their original dates and even launching new virtual events to address issues the industry is facing in the current environment. Below is a list of 2021 conference announcements.

ALIS
On November 23, 2020, Northstar Travel Group and The BHN Group announced plans to reschedule the next Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS) and ALIS Law to July 2021. ALIS will be held from July 26-28, 2021, at the JW Marriott/Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles L.A. LIVE and ALIS Law will be held from July 25-26, 2021, at the Courtyard/Residence Inn Los Angeles L.A. LIVE.
“We believe that shifting the conferences from April to July will maintain the safety and well-being of our delegates as it hopefully will provide additional time for vaccines to be distributed and for the virus to be better contained,” wrote Jeff Higley, president, The BHN Group, in the announcement. “This would, in turn, provide governments with more reasons to allow live, in-person gatherings such as ALIS and ALIS Law to maximize the use of a venue’s space while still providing a safe, healthy environment.”
The 20th anniversary of ALIS was originally scheduled for January, then moved to April before being rescheduled for July. In lieu of hosting an in-person ALIS in January 2021, The BHN Group hosted a virtual ALIS Winter Update on Monday, January 25, 2021.
In 2022, Northstar Travel Group and The BHN Group expect to return to January dates for ALIS and ALIS Law: ALIS is slated to take place January 24-26, 2022, in Los Angeles and ALIS Law will be held January 23-24, 2022, in Los Angeles. Next year’s ALIS Summer Update is planning to place in July 2022 in locations across the country.
