Tom Ballance Named President and COO of Borgata

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J.—Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa today announced that Tom Ballance has been named president and chief operating officer, pending regulatory approval.

Ballance currently serves as Borgata’s senior vice president of administration. He will report to Bob Boughner, executive vice president and chief business development officer of Boyd Gaming Corporation, who has served as President of Borgata for several years.

Ballance joined Borgata as vice President of development in 1998. Prior to joining Borgata, he spent 17 years at Harrah’s Atlantic City in a variety of operations and development positions.

“Today’s announcement allows Boyd Gaming to fully leverage the skills of two talented executives,” said Keith Smith , president and chief executive officer of Boyd Gaming, in an announcement. “By assuming responsibility for Borgata’s day-to-day operations, Tom’s promotion enables Bob Boughner to take on a larger role in the management of Boyd Gaming, while still overseeing the operations of Borgata. Bob is one of our industry’s most experienced and effective executives, and we look forward to having him play an expanded role at our Company as we prepare to complete the acquisition of Peninsula Gaming.”
