The Langham Haikou Opens in China

Hong Kong-based Langham Hospitality Group reaches another milestone with the opening of The Langham, Haikou on May 28. Set in the capital of Hainan, China, The Langham, Haikou takes its place as the eighth hotel in China for the global hotel management company, and the 20th globally, joining other Langham Hotels and Resorts in key cities such as London, New York, Chicago, Shanghai, and Sydney. A new landmark of elegant and classic luxury in the city skyline, The Langham is strategically located in the Guomao district that is in the heart of the city.

Designed by U.S.-based architects SRSS, guests may expect classic detailing, generous spaces, and tasteful interiors at The Langham. With 249 rooms and suites spread out over 14 floors, guests staying for business or leisure may enjoy breath-taking views over the city or South China Sea. All the rooms and suites feature specially commissioned art pieces and plush textiles, and are styled with a palette of creams and gold to create havens of warmth. Each room is equipped with the Langham signature bed, motorized drapes, and separate, large format rain showers. Guests of the Club Lounge may also enjoy an extra level of personalized service and privileges including breakfast, afternoon tea, evening cocktails and the use of the boardroom.

For guests who require the ultimate in luxury accommodation, The Chairman Suite (356 square meters) features two bedrooms with unobstructed views of the South China Sea, with separate sitting, dining and cooking areas allow for private entertainment, as well as an oversized jacuzzi in the main en-suite bathroom.

Catering to diverse appetites, The Langham Haikou invites guests to experience a range of international cuisines and dining options. As the namesake restaurant of the group’s Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant in Hong Kong—T’ang Court offers authentic Cantonese and Hainanese culinary dishes.

Taking full advantage of the sixth floor English style garden, Star Bar & Restaurant is a destination for a casual drink or barbecue dinner. Featuring a unique al fresco dining setting, the barbecue grill and open bar offer a tranquil setting for dinner.

Centrally located on the first floor, the Palm Court is the setting for the signature Langham Afternoon Tea with Wedgwood. Celebrating a tradition that began at The Langham, London in 1865, the afternoon tea comprises a selection of premium teas served with delicacies including English scones topped with delicate cream and rose petal preserves.

With touches of Art Deco motifs, the lobby bar Liquary is a retreat of classic elegance, as well as a place for guests to enjoy pre and post-dinner drinks, evening cocktails, and cigars. Created as a means of assisting with the education of guests as to the origins, history, and traditions of liquor, the Liquary also serves as a library and lounge where patrons can enjoy their favorite beverage, as well as read and learn about it at the same time.

The hotel’s meeting spaces and venues are the ideal choice for special events.
