Kansas City, Mo.—Falcon Hospitality Group (FHG) recently broke ground on a $12 million SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Kansas City, Missouri. FHG will own and manage the 96-room property at 8300 N. Stoddard Ave., which is expected to open in the first quarter of 2019.
The new SpringHill Suites will be located seven miles from Kansas City International Airport (MCI) and 20 minutes from downtown Kansas City. Guests will have access to dining, shopping, and entertainment options at the nearby Zona Rosa Town Center.
“It’s an exciting time for our company as we partner with Marriott and expand our hotel portfolio in the Kansas City metro market,” Deepak Parmer, principal at FHG, says. The Independence, Mo.-based company currently owns and operates five properties in Kentucky, Kansas, and Missouri. This will be Falcon’s second property under construction—two more are in the pipeline for the next 12 months.
The new hotel targets both business and leisure travelers, offering a little extra space with suites larger than a typical hotel room. The company says that the brand new design adds depth and sophistication to the décor. The hotel’s lobby will be a venue for conducting casual meetings or for guests to socialize during SpringHill Suites’ evening experience. The hotel’s F&B offerings include local craft beer and premium wines available through the property’s 24/7 Market. In addition, the hotel property will offer 966 square feet of meeting space to accommodate meetings and functions of up to 64 people as well as business services, complimentary WiFi, same-day dry cleaning, guest laundry facilities, an indoor swimming pool, and a fitness center.
