MADRID—Room Mate Hotels continues its rapid global expansion plans with the launches of two new boutique properties in Europe: Room Mate Giulia in Milan and Room Mate Valeria in Malaga. The Madrid-based company has eight additional hotel openings planned for 2016 in cities including Rotterdam, Florence, Rome, Paris, Barcelona, and Madrid. With a new American headquarters in Miami opened earlier this year, Room Mate will also emphasize expansion in North and Latin America, with an eye on new markets including Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and Boston, as well New York City and Miami, where it is already present.
“Milan and Malaga embody Room Mate Hotels’ bold and spirited attitude through their rich culture and vibrant communities,” said Enrique “Kike” Sarasola, founder and chairman of the brand. “We’re excited to introduce Room Mate Giulia and Room Mate Valeria in these dynamic destinations. They are our first two launches of 2016 and we look forward to continuing the momentum with eight additional new hotels slated to open in exciting cities in the coming year.”
Sarasola’s vision for the Room Mate brand is to offer design-centric hotels that are not only affordable, but centers of hospitality innovation in the heart of major cities. As with all Room Mate Hotels, Room Mate Giulia and Room Mate Valeria will offer amenities and guest services, such as complimentary Wi-Fi inside and outside the hotel, breakfast until noon, late check-out, and warm welcomes one might expect when staying at a friend’s house.
