Red Lion Sells and Signs Franchise Agreements on Two Properties

SPOKANE, Wash.—Red Lion Hotels Corporation announced the company has sold its properties in Kennewick, Wash., and Twin Falls, Id., to new owners who each signed franchise agreements with property improvement plans.

“We have retained franchise agreements with the sale of the first four properties of six we listed last fall,” said Greg Mount, president and CEO of Red Lion Hotels Corporation. “In each of these cases, the new owners have agreed to significant property improvement plans. Each of these sales substantiate the relevance and name recognition of the Red Lion brands.”

The Red Lion Hotel Columbia Center in Kennewick, was sold on May 28, 2014. As part of the agreement, the new franchise owner is keeping the name and will improve the landscaping and parking lot of the exterior and update the guestrooms at the property. The hotel has 162 guestrooms and suites with nearly 10,000 square feet of meeting space, an outdoor pool, free WiFi, and Louie’s Lounge, open nightly for dinner, sports, and entertainment. Adjacent to the Columbia Center Mall, the property is three blocks from the Three Rivers Convention Center and Toyota Center.

Additionally, the Red Lion Hotel Canyon Springs in Twin Falls, was sold June 6, 2014, to another new franchise owner. The property will remain a Red Lion and the new owner will immediately invest in the overall curbside appeal of the hotel in addition to upgrading the guestrooms.

With 112 guestrooms and an outdoor pool, the hotel has nearly 5,000 square feet of meeting space,
Diamondfield’s Lounge, and Moxie Java’s, a coffee and pastry bar. Just one major block from the Snake River Canyon, the hotel is less than half a mile from Perrine Bridge, the only structure in the country from which it is legal to BASE jump year‐round. Just five miles from the hotel is the Shoshone Falls, often referred to as the Niagara of the West.
