Red Lion Expands into Tucson, Ariz.

SPOKANE, Wash.—Red Lion Hotels Corporation announced the company has signed a franchise agreement on a property in Tucson, Ariz.

“This property is located near the western edge of the Santa Catalina Mountains in Tucson,” said Ron Burgett, executive vice president of lodging and brand development for Red Lion. “It is perfect for our guests visiting the area for business, sports, and leisure travel.”

The Quality Inn and Suites hotel is expected to convert to the Red Lion Inn and Suites brand in May. The hotel has 155 rooms, 91 of which are suites, and 1,600 square feet of meeting space. It also features an outdoor pool and hot tub, courtyard putting green, and a free hot breakfast.

“The signing of this agreement is a great kick-off to 2014, following a banner year in 2013,” said Interim President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Evans. “We added 11 new locations in 2013, bringing our total to 30 franchised hotels, launched a new brand (the Leo Hotel Collection) and expanded into Arizona. I am pleased with all our development team has accomplished.”
