On the Move: This Week’s Comings and Goings

    On Aug. 14, Marriott International announced Tricia Primrose has been selected as the new global chief communications and public affairs officer. She joins the company from Rational 360, a strategic public relations and communications firm where she has been a partner since 2013. Prior to that role, she was the executive vice president, global communications and public affairs at AOL.

    Take a look at more notable job moves that took place this week:

    Samie Barr has been named vice president of global brands for Hyatt Hotels. She joins Hyatt from Starbucks Coffee Company, where she spent 14 years in various leadership positions.

    Karisma Hotels & Resorts has announced key leadership appointments as part of its global expansion plans. Armando Chomat, the former vice president of sales and marketing, has been promoted to executive vice president. Rienk de Jong will take his place. Alejandro Perez has been named sales manager of groups and niche markets. Rafael Feliz Jr. has been appointed senior corporate brand manager. Nadja Dimitrijevic has been promoted to e-commerce manager. And finally, Anabel Sanchez has been named senior marketing manager.

    Christoph Moje has been named hotel manager of The Beverly Hills Hotel. He joins the team from The Langham Huntington, Pasadena, where he also served as hotel manager.

    Benchmark Hospitality International has promoted Jacqueline Humes to regional director of finance. She has worked as area director of finance for Marenas Resort of Sunny Isles in North Miami and ONE Bal Harbour Resort & Spa, Miami Beach.

    Additionally, Benchmark has named Julia Maldonado-Rodriguez director of human resources for Villas of Grand Cypress in Orlando, Fla. She most recently served as director of human resources for Reunion Resort & Club of Orlando. The company also promoted O’Mally Foster to director of human resources at its Chattanoogan Hotel. Foster previously served as human resources manager for the property.

    Loews New Orleans Hotel has announced Mohan Koka as its new general manager. He most recently worked with Loews Atlanta Hotel.

    Michael Handy has been promoted to vice president of the HVS Consulting & Valuation satellite office in Austin, Texas. He has previous front-line hotel experience in large casino hotel and resort operations.

    Marcus & Millichap has hired three hospitality investment professionals to join the firm’s National Hospitality Group (NHG) in Charleston, S.C. Bringing 25 years of experience to the job, Josh Williams joins the team as NHG senior director. Joce Messinger has been named an NHG director, having closed more than 25 investment real estate transactions in the southeastern U.S. Michael Estes will serve as an NHG associate member. He most recently was managing director of Beacon Hospitality.
