My Place Breaks Ground on Four Franchises in One Week

Aberdeen, S.D.—My Place Hotels of America—a recently-launched extended stay hotel brand—announced that it will be breaking ground on four new franchises across the country this week. My Place President and CEO Ryan Rivett is currently leading a delegation from Las Vegas to Nashville, ending the week of groundbreakings in the Des Moines area where two My Place hotels are planned.

The groundbreaking tour spans three time zones and is part of the company’s aggressive U.S. expansion and franchise development. Rivett said the brand is aiming to open 1,000 locations by 2024.

“We’re hitting our stride in franchise development and looking towards achieving tangible, critical mass this year,” Rivett said. “The first quarter has been fantastic, and we’ve taken six franchise sales from concept discussion to planning just this week.”

On May 15, My Place broke ground on its first Nevada hotel in Las Vegas. Owner Randal Bender said he is excited to share the momentous occasion with his franchisor and fellow My Place franchisees.

“When the CEO of My Place invited me to be a part of a week-long groundbreaking tour, I couldn’t think of a better way to make the brand’s debut in the great state of Nevada,” Bender said. “Bringing My Place to Las Vegas is very exciting, and we now have a tremendous opportunity to share that excitement.”

Following Las Vegas, the tour stopped in Music City to mark the brand’s debut in Tennessee. The Nashville location is owner Eric Myers’ second MyPlace Hotel.

“It is awesome to be a part of My Place’s four groundbreakings in four days,” Myers said. “My Place is quickly marking off the top US hospitality markets right now, and I’m excited to be a part of the growth that the greater area of Nashville is experiencing. My Place will be a great addition to the community.”

Owner Matt Eller has both franchise agreements for the two Des Moines area locations that will break ground this week within 10 miles of each other.

All My Place Hotels offer nightly, weekly, and monthly rate options. Each extended stay guest room has a My Kitchen with a two-burner cooktop, a microwave, and a full refrigerator. The properties are pet-friendly and will also include on-site laundry facilities, complimentary high speed Internet service, and a 24-hour My Store, located in the hotel lobby and stocked with an array of supplies for the guests’ convenience. A new Breakfast in Bed option is available for a minimal cost.

My Place Hotels of America currently has 32 hotels open and operating with a near-term pipeline of 32 additional hotels and midterm commitments for upwards of 40 more hotels to follow.
