WESTON, Fla.—Embracing their passion for culinary, JW Marriott properties in the Caribbean and Latin America region announced the launch of a Chef’s Table video series on YouTube, spotlighting signature and local dishes and techniques from classically trained chefs from JW Marriott properties in Lima, Cancun, Bogota, Cusco, and Rio de Janeiro.
The Chef’s Table series debuts in Mexico and Peru with formally trained Chef Gonzalo Ruiz from the JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa and Chef Julio Ferradas from JW Marriott Hotel Lima. Chef Gonzalo Ruiz creates a yellowfin tuna tartare with locally sourced fish and touches of chimichurri, Mexican avocado, and freshly baked flour tortillas. Chef Julio Ferradas prepares his signature stir-fried “paiche” tacu tacu, a contemporary twist on the traditional Peruvian dish made from a local fish.
“The Caribbean and Latin America region is rich in culinary tradition and is tremendously diverse from country to country. With the new Chef’s Table series, we will take our guests on a culinary tour of the region and demonstrate the incredible culinary talents we have at our hotels,” said Walter Regidor, vice president of operations for the Caribbean and Latin America at Marriott International. “This is the ideal platform to engage digitally with our guests who want to discover new flavors while expanding their culinary knowledge.”
The first two videos—featuring the chefs at JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa and JW Marriott Hotel Lima—are both featured on the region’s YouTube channel. Every six weeks a new video will be uploaded highlighting a different destination and hotel. Upcoming properties include the JW Marriott Hotel Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, the JW Marriott El Convento Cusco in Peru, the JW Marriott Hotel Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, and JW Marriott Hotel Bogota in Colombia.
