ATLANTA—IHG Hotels & Resorts completed the ceremonial groundbreakings of two new Atwell Suites properties in Henderson, Nevada, and Fort Worth, Texas. Both hotels are projected to open in mid-late 2024 and join a pipeline that will bring 35 additional properties and more than 3,500 rooms to the United States in the coming years.

Created to fill a need in the all-suites, upper-midscale category, Atwell Suites hotels are designed for guests seeking flexibility when they travel. Each hotel has guestrooms with zones for work and rest as well as a mix of private and shared public spaces. Both the Henderson and Fort Worth hotels will extend Atwell Suites’ design touches with amenities including hot breakfast, a 24/7 beverage station offering bean-to-cup coffee, sparkling water and tea, and a marketplace with snacks and travel essentials.

Located adjacent to both The Pass Casino and America First Center, Atwell Suites Henderson—at the Pass will be included in the redevelopment of the city’s Water Street district. In addition to 90 guest suites, the hotel will offer a pool and fitness center, a bar with small plates available in the evenings, and a TV lounge, board games, and puzzles. Atwell Suites Henderson—at the Pass will operate under the ownership of DeSimone Companies.

With 96 guest suites and amenities mirroring the Henderson property, Atwell Suites Fort Worth North is near both Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport and hundreds of corporate offices within the city’s central business district. The hotel will operate under the ownership of Sequoia Hospitality.

Karen Gilbride, vice president global, Atwell Suites, avid hotels, and Garner hotels at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said, “The groundbreakings of our newest Atwell Suites hotels are just the latest milestones in an exciting and bright future that will see the brand expand more than tenfold in size in the coming years. Both of these markets have emerged in recent years as destinations for business and leisure travel, making them ideal fits for guests seeking great design, productivity, relaxation, or a bit of them all. We look forward to working with DeSimone Companies and Sequoia Hospitality respectively on successful builds and openings.”

The groundbreakings in Henderson and Fort Worth are the first this year for construction starts among the Atwell Suites pipeline, with the brand expected to begin work on new hotels in Las Vegas; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Cheyenne, Wyoming later in 2023. Additionally, Atwell Suites will welcome its third U.S. property in Austin this year, following debuts in Miami and Denver in 2022.
