Rates in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas are edging upwards, according to a study by Hotels.com. The Dallas Morning News is reporting that hotels in nine of 15 North Texas cities saw an increase in the first half of 2013.
The year-over-year increase in Dallas matched the broader average, but in six suburbs, including Grand Prairie and Westlake, rates jumped by 10 percent or more.
Although ADR is improving, many Texas hotels are still seeing rates below 2011 levels, showing that rate recovery in the state has been slow. Five star hotels and luxury hotels are doing better in the recovery, according to the data. The ADR of five-star hotels in Dallas gained 26 percent this year over last year, averaging $416 a night.
