Dow Named Manager of DoubleTree Valley Forge

VALLEY FORGE, Pa./SEATTLE, Wash.—The Dow Hotel Company has been named the manager of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Philadelphia-Valley Forge.

As part of its responsibilities, Dow will oversee an approximately $1 million upgrade of the hotel’s 25,000-square-feet of meeting space and lobby. The hotel also is receiving the finishing touches of a makeover of the exterior façade, including new roof line accents, trim detail, updated colors, and LED lighting. All improvements are expected to be completed by September 2014.

“The renovation, plus implementation of our proprietary management and marketing programs, will have an immediate positive effect on the bottom line,” said Murray L. Dow II, DHC founder and president. “We have a long, successful track record along the Eastern Seaboard and extensive experience with DoubleTree and all of Hilton’s upscale brands. This hotel has untapped potential as a market leading social/meeting location, which we are addressing immediately with this upgrade and aggressive marketing.”

The meeting space renovation will concentrate primarily on the 7,021 square foot Grand Ballroom, capable of handling up to 1,000 guests. The upgrade will incorporate a state-of-the-art, energy-efficient, LED lighting package that generates saturated color and dynamic effects in alcoves, accent areas, and other interior spaces allowing event organizers to create uniquely individualized palettes on any given surface in the space. The lobby will be refreshed and recharged with connectivity zones and communal tables to meet the needs of today’s travelers who prefer to work, gather, and socialize beyond the confines of the guestroom.

Located near the King of Prussia Mall, one of the nation’s largest shopping areas with more than 2,793,000 square feet of retail space, and just 25 minutes from center city Philadelphia, the DoubleTree Philadelphia-Valley Forge is ideally situated for meeting, business, and leisure travelers. Valley Forge National Park, one of America’s most historic sites, is located approximately five miles from the property.

The DoubleTree Philadelphia-Valley Forge features a fitness center, swimming pool, T. Burke’s Bistro Pub and adjacent lounge. The hotel’s 327 rooms and suites offer a wide array of amenities, including the Sweet Dreams Bed and large screen HD TVs.
