Canopy by Hilton to Develop in Dallas

DALLAS, Texas—Canopy by Hilton and The Javelin Group have announced plans to develop Canopy Dallas|Uptown. Canopy by Hilton, which launched a year ago, targets vibrant, culturally rich neighborhoods in select cities across the nation.

Located at the intersection of Cityplace West and Oak Grove in Uptown Dallas, the 150-room Canopy Dallas|Uptown will be the hospitality highlight of Cityplace, a mixed-use luxury retail and residential development. Financed by Texas Capital Bank, the new-build hotel slated to open in fall 2017 will feature a restaurant and a rooftop bar, serving local, healthful cuisine with evening wine and beer tastings.

“We are delighted to bring the Canopy by Hilton brand to the thriving Dallas Uptown neighborhood,” said Alan Naul, president, The Javelin Group. “With convenient proximity to dining, shopping, the arts, and entertainment venues, Canopy’s dedication to positivity, comfort and simplicity will be a natural choice for travelers looking for a true Dallas experience.”

Uptown Dallas is home to over 100 restaurants, galleries, antique shops, and boutiques and features a complimentary trolley line to the Arts District. Team Members’ local know-how will lead guests to popular neighborhood attractions to include Rye 51, an upscale-rustic menswear store with a whiskey bar; The Magnolia Theatre, offering cocktails and snacks alongside indie films; The Museum of Geometric and MADI Art; and The Rustic, a legendary night spot featuring local cuisine and live music acts.

“We’re looking forward to extending a warm welcome to the Uptown neighborhood,” said Gary Steffen, global head, Canopy by Hilton. “We expect the hotel to add a tremendous amount of value to the Dallas hospitality market by giving energetic and adventurous travelers an authentic neighborhood experience.”

As with all Canopy hotels, Canopy Dallas|Uptown will complement the eclectic personality of the Uptown neighborhood by appealing to travelers looking for a simple, unique, and upper-upscale experience. Canopy by Hilton blends into the neighborhood by featuring artwork from local artists, serving traditional and locally sourced food and drink, and offering destination-specific welcome gifts.
