Canopy by Hilton Coming to Baltimore

BALTIMORE—Canopy by Hilton and Beatty Development Group announced today plans to develop Canopy Baltimore|Harbor Point. Canopy by Hilton, which launched a year ago, targets vibrant, culturally rich neighborhoods in select cities across the nation.

Canopy Baltimore|Harbor Point will feature a first floor waterfront lobby and sit on the top four floors of the 12-story Wills Street Wharf office building. The 156-room hotel will also feature a restaurant with an outdoor terrace offering dramatic views of the Inner Harbor.

“Hilton’s commitment to Harbor Point shows the company’s level of excitement and confidence in Baltimore,” said Michael S. Beatty, president of Beatty Development Group. “The location is truly second to none. Harbor Point will be a prime business and leisure destination, and we are thrilled to bring Canopy by Hilton to Baltimore.”

“Canopy by Hilton redefines the lifestyle segment, and brings guests closer to the destinations and communities in which they travel,” said Gary Steffen, global head, Canopy by Hilton. “The Harbor Point neighborhood in Baltimore perfectly aligns with the ethos of Canopy by Hilton. We are excited to partner with Beatty Development to bring Canopy to the city of Baltimore.”

Wills Street Wharf is the fourth building in the growing Harbor Point development, which will include 225,000 square feet of office space, first-floor retail space and the 96,000-square-foot hotel. Beatty estimates breaking ground on Wills Street Wharf in the second quarter of 2016 with an approximate 18-month delivery schedule.

“With the spectacular success of the first two office projects at Harbor Point, we are confident that demand for highly efficient, flexible and well designed office space remains strong,” added Beatty.
