Cambria Hotels & Suites Arrives in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON—Choice Hotels International and Concord Hospitality announced that the new Cambria Hotel & Suites Washington D.C. Convention Center is officially open. The property is conveniently situated in the historic Shaw neighborhood in the heart of downtown. It is the first Cambria Hotels & Suites property to open in the city.

“Cambria Hotels & Suites continues to experience tremendous growth with a focus on top-tier, urban markets. This is the first Cambria Hotels & Suites in the nation’s capital, and we are thrilled to open in such a lively and historic city where both business and leisure travel are booming,” said Michael Murphy, senior vice president, upscale brands, Choice Hotels International. “Concord Hospitality brings nearly 30 years of hospitality experience, making them a phenomenal development partner for Choice. We know they will deliver the Cambria experience at its best—stylish, modern comfort at a great value.”

The 182-suite hotel is the first hotel from the Cambria brand to offer a truly urban interpretation of the brand’s design, the first property to be part of a mixed-use development, and the first LEED-certified Cambria Hotels & Suites.

“From the art and the architecture, to the cuisine and the staff, this Cambria embodies characteristics of Washington, D.C., and more specifically, of the Shaw neighborhood,” said Mark Laport, chief executive officer and president of Concord Hospitality. “We look forward to bringing a personalized, memorable experience to our guests and working with Choice Hotels.”

Guests entering the Cambria Hotel & Suites Washington, D.C. Convention Center will immediately notice the LED-lit red terrazzo staircase housed in two stories of glass. The staircase leads to an open lobby extending the length of the property, which is filled with local artwork depicting scenes from the historic neighborhood. The property also features a rooftop pool with views of the U.S. Capitol and national monuments, along with an urban oasis courtyard.

The all-suite rooms feature separate living, working, and sleeping space, ergonomic chairs, moveable desks, and upscale linens. The property offers more than 1,200 square feet of meeting and conference space; a contemporary bistro; grab-and-go options; a barista bar; and a business center.
