Aloft Brand to Launch in Syracuse

STAMFORD, Conn.—Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide’s Aloft brand will soon debut in Syracuse, N.Y. Aloft Syracuse Inner Harbor will be a key component of a massive waterfront redevelopment project along the former Barge Canal. Owned and developed by COR Development Company LLC and managed by Real Hospitality Group, the new Aloft hotel is slated to open in June 2016, featuring 132 spacious, loft-like rooms, forward-thinking technology, and a vibrant, social atmosphere.

“Aloft is a terrific match for this exciting waterfront revitalization project and is poised to emerge as a hotspot among savvy travelers and young professionals who appreciate Aloft’s urban design aesthetic, intuitive technologies, and live music offerings at the W XYZ bar,” said Brian McGuinness, senior vice president, specialty select brands for Starwood. “Accelerating demand for Aloft among the next generation of travelers has fueled the brand’s propulsive growth in markets worldwide.”

COR Development’s $350 million redevelopment of the Inner Harbor will transform the 30-acre waterfront property into a world-class tourism destination. In addition to the new Aloft hotel, the development will include educational facilities and several mixed-use complexes with office, retail, and residential components. Aloft Syracuse Inner Harbor will also be a short stroll to Destiny USA, a major shopping and entertainment complex, and convenient to NBT Bank Stadium, Syracuse University, SUNY Upstate Medical University, and several leading hospitals. Hotel facilities will include the Aloft brand’s signature W XYZ bar, Splash pool, 24-hour fitness center, and 690 square feet of flexible meeting space.
