Lake-Centric Living: W Bellevue Hotel in Washington

Built in a city known for its lake houses, technical innovation, and rugged-individualist appeal, W Bellevue hotel marks a new era of design for W Hotels in North America. Strategically placed in the center of Lincoln Square beside Lake Washington, the hotel pays homage to Bellevue’s lakeside culture with its cabin décor and locally inspired cuisine.

The 245-room property was designed by HKS Inc. design director Mary Alice Palmer and HKS architect Tom Sprinkle and includes 220 guest rooms and 25 suites ranging from the Fabulous Suite to the Extreme Wow Suite. The hotel’s entrance greets guests with a striking reclaimed wood design and colorful street art. The hotel’s lobby, the Living Room, is considered a clubhouse for the modern traveler and was modeled after classic A-frame lodges and cabins historically found in the region. Just steps off the Living Room, The Porch provides an outdoor hangout space overlooking Lake Washington. One of the hotel’s most whimsical rooms is the Library, where guests are encouraged to take a book and leave their own, creating a neighborly vibe.

Guests may dine either at the hotel’s speakeasy-inspired cocktail lounge, Civility & Unrest, or The Lakehouse, which has a Northwest farmhouse concept. Both are led by James Beard Award–winning chef Jason Wilson, whose farm-inspired craft cooking spotlights his relationships with growers and farmers. The hotel’s 4,400-square-foot Great Room shows off vibrant décor and stylish finishes underneath deconstructed docks that float just below the ceiling. W Bellevue is managed by W Hotels Worldwide, a part of Marriott International Inc.
