RALEIGH, N.C.—MJM Group, a Marriott developer, will develop a new Residence Inn by Marriott-Charlotte/Steele Creek in North Carolina. Midas Hospitality, a St. Louis-based hospitality company, was selected to manage the property. The hotel will be designed by St. Louis’ Gray Design with North Carolina’s Stimmel Associates as the civil engineer. The hotel is scheduled to be completed by late 2017.
The $20 million hotel will be built on a vacant lot located at the intersection of Dixie River Rd. and Trojan Dr. in Charlotte, N.C. in the Steele Creek area. The 82,000-square-foot hotel, which will have 120 rooms, caters to both corporate and leisure customers. This property will feature an outdoor pool, an outdoor living area, meeting space, and fitness center.
Childress Klein’s partner Chris Thomas represented the seller. Selwyn Property Group’s Kurt Schoenhoff, vice president of hospitality and brokerage services, represented MJM Group with the purchase. MJM Group is the developer of the dual-branded Residence Inn and Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Charlotte Airport. Based in Raleigh, MJM Group’s principals are Anuj and Vinita Mittal. The company previously developed the 109-room Courtyard by Marriott at Triangle Town Center-North Raleigh, which won Marriott’s Platinum Circle, Diamond Circle, and Gold Circle Awards in consecutive years.
