SEATTLE—Stonebridge Companies and Marriott International have announced the development of the Moxy Seattle South Lake Union hotel, which will be one of the first Moxy hotels in the country. Moxy hotels debuted in Milan, Italy in 2014, and other U.S. locations are scheduled to open in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, and Nashville. Construction on the Seattle project began recently and the hotel is anticipated to open in late 2017.
Located at 1016 Republican St. in the heart of the South Lake Union neighborhood, which is anchored by Amazon’s headquarters, Moxy Seattle will bring stylish, affordable accommodations to an area of Seattle that is experiencing significant growth.

Designed to reinvent the traditional affordable hotel experience, the boutique hotel’s communal space is technologically friendly and embraces an innovative, industrial-chic design. The Moxy lobby is the center of activity for the hotel and offers a fun, social atmosphere and space for guests to congregate and enjoy a grab-and-go meal or beverage from the bar. Guests are welcomed into Moxy at the bar, and the hotel features 147 tech-savvy guest rooms with relaxed, comfortable accommodations and eye-catching detail. The elevators feature photo booths and props to take photos.
The surrounding South Lake Union area includes millions of square feet of new office and residential space, including Amazon’s headquarters and growing campus. Google plans to occupy office space just one block away and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation headquarters and visitor center is within walking distance. The area is also becoming a hub for the life sciences industry. Leisure guests can easily access nearby attractions such as the Space Needle and the Experience Music Project.
