Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago Grand Opening Party

CHICAGO—Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago, the first hotel to debut under the new full-service lifestyle brand from Hyatt Hotels Corporation, hosted a grand opening celebration July 30.

The new hotel opened in April inside what was previously a 22-story office building—designed by famed-architect Frank Chase—constructed in 1927. Over the course of the last year, the property underwent a renovation to establish all the elements of a contemporary, full-service hotel while maintaining the integrity of the building’s roots. The celebration highlighted the history of the property and The Loop neighborhood, both of which have become integral parts of the hotel’s identity.

Hyatt Hotels CEO Mark Hoplamazian and Chief Marketing Officer Maryam Banikarim attended the grand opening party, along with the hotel owner, John T. Murphy of Integrated Clark Monroe, and Interstate Hotels & Resorts President and COO Samuel E. (Ted) Knighton.

“We are incredibly proud to be the first hotel under this new brand and show guests what the Centric experience is all about,” said Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago General Manager, Karen McGuigan, in remarks. “From the eccentric décor with a local flair, to our knowledgeable staff of local insiders, we bring something new and exciting to The Loop community.”
