Hospitality Media Group to Unveil New Branding for HX: The Hotel Experience

CINCINNATI, OHIO–Hospitality Media Group (HMG) is planning to unveil a new brand image and logo for HX: The Hotel Experience. Created by HX’s creative design agency DeanHouston Inc., the new branding will officially launch across all mediums on June 1, 2018.

The new HX branding is part of a growth strategy implemented by HMG earlier this year to expand HX to a B2B media brand for hotel and restaurant professionals.

The HX brand image was purposely created to define a custom signature look that HMG says is key in elevating the brand from the competition. The look and feel consists of contemporary stylized black and white artwork, using a burst of color to highlight significant takeaways. The HX logo design is the result of an exploration in shape influenced by the negative space yielded with an arrangement of rectangles, trapezoids, and other geometric figures commonly found throughout hotels. The HX logo uses a contemporary black/red color palette which allows it to stand out. The square “hotel window” shapes in the “H” underscore the connection to the brand’s core market.

“We’re excited with how the next generation of the HX brand identity has developed,” Tedd Swormstedt, CEO of HMG, says. “The new branding supports HX’s strategic mandate to present regular, relevant, and engaging content, education, and networking; regional events; and a dynamic annual industry conference and marketplace.”

Among the applications for the new HX branding are:

HX: The Marketplace–Designed to bring buyers and sellers together, the Marketplace will have more than 300 exhibitors. In addition, Marketplace “innovation zones” will showcase industry trends in curated exhibits. The Marketplace will also host more than 30 education sessions on the trade show floor in three designed theaters—HX: Onstage Hotel; HX: Onstage F&B; and HX: Onstage Tech. HX: The Marketplace takes place November 11-12, 2018 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.

HX: The Conference–HMG will launch a stand-alone conference on November 11-12 at the Javits Center with an opening general session and 15 breakouts focused on three core content pillars: Future Trends; Technology, and Operational Excellence. The conference and marketplace will conclude with an inaugural HX Awards Ceremony on Monday, November 12 celebrating, honoring, and highlighting the movers and shakers that push the hospitality industry forward.

HX: The Newsletter–The brand-focused newsletter will provide readers with a premium communications platform that features a resource/knowledge hub that brings value-added content, market expertise, research, education, and thought leadership to the hospitality professional. The newsletter will be distributed monthly beginning in June 2018 with HX curated content geared toward those who create the guest experience.

HX: The Regional Event, Orlando—The 90-minute HX event will offer actionable insights on a subject impacting hospitality operations in addition to peer-to-peer networking with regional counterparts. The first HX Regional Event will take place in Orlando, Fla. in early Fall 2018.
