Representatives from the local workers union in Washington, D.C., are rallying to push forward a bill that would impose strict regulations on Airbnb. However, the company claims it has had a positive impact on the area, according to The Washington Post.
According to the article, Airbnb says the home-sharing network allows middle-class residents to supplement regular incomes, and also attracts a wider array of visitors. About 142,000 people stayed in Airbnb rentals while visiting Washington, D.C. over the past year.
