Three Hotel Companies Named to DiversityInc Top 50

Marriott International, Wyndham Worldwide, and Hilton Worldwide were named among DiversityInc’s Top 50 Companies for Diversity in 2015. Marriott International was recognized as #13, up three spots from last year. The company was also ranked on specialty lists for its LGBT (#4) and supplier diversity (#10) efforts. Wyndham Worldwide took the 29th spot, marking the third consecutive year the company has been in the Top 50. Wyndham Worldwide also was named as one of the top 10 companies for supplier diversity (#4), global diversity (#6), and diversity councils (#7). This marks the first time the company was named to three specialty lists. Hilton Worldwide came in at 47th, and was also named one of the Top 10 companies for supplier diversity (#9).

DiversityInc Top 50 companies have significantly more diversity than average American corporations. Compared with Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) statistics, Top 50 companies have 20 percent more Blacks, Latinos, and Asians in management, and 13 percent more women, according to DiversityInc.

“The Top 50 list outperformed the market on a short and long-term basis, which has been the case over the past several years,” said DiversityInc CEO Luke Visconti. “This shows evidence of the link between excellence in diversity management and superior corporate governance.”
