NEW YORK—Loews Hotels & Resorts today announced that the new Loews Chicago Hotel has officially opened.
“Returning to Chicago with a branded hotel has been a goal of ours for some time now,” said Jonathan M. Tisch, chairman, Loews Hotels & Resorts. “It is especially exciting for us to be able to expand our footprint by adding such a spectacular property at a time when Chicago is thriving.”
Located in the heart of Streeterville, the wholly owned Loews Chicago Hotel sits just one block north of the Chicago River and two blocks east of North Michigan Ave. The property features 400 guestrooms, including 25 suites; a signature lobby bar named ETA; a celebrity chef-driven Argentine restaurant, Rural Society, by Iron Chef Jose Garces; more than 29,000 square feet of meeting space; a luxury spa and a fitness center with a 75-foot lap pool; and the largest outdoor rooftop terrace in the city, Streeterville Social.
Designed by Chicago’s own Simeone Deary Design Group and Solomon Cordwell Buenz architects, Loews Chicago Hotel showcases the essence of all things Chicago from metals to wood to furnishings infused with modern touches.
The addition of the Loews Chicago Hotel further expands Loews Hotels’ footprint in the Midwest. During 2014, Loews Hotels added hotels at Chicago O’Hare and in Minneapolis. The company continues to seek to grow its brand in gateway cities and resort destinations and just last month announced the intent to purchase the 158-room Mandarin Oriental San Francisco Hotel.
