DoubleTree by Hilton Enters Wuhu, China

WUHU, China—DoubleTree by Hilton announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Wuhu in China’s Anhui province. Located in the central business district, the 26-story hotel features 442 guestrooms, including 23 suites, five restaurants, the city’s largest ballroom at 1,000 square meters, and nine multi-functional meeting rooms. The hotel is operated by Hilton Worldwide and owned by Wuhu Shimao New Century Property Co.

“We are delighted to introduce DoubleTree by Hilton’s first hotel in Wuhu, a city rich in culture and business potential,” said John Greenleaf, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton.

DoubleTree by Hilton Wuhu features 1,600 square meters of meeting space and a 1,000-square-meter ballroom, which is divisible into two sections and can flexibly accommodate up to 1,100 guests. The meeting space also includes nine multi-function rooms equipped with ceiling-mounted projectors and screens, internet access, and an adjacent 24-hour business center offering full secretarial services.

“Wuhu is experiencing rapid economic development and the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Wuhu is critical to this continued growth,” said Bruce McKenzie, senior vice president of operations, Greater China and Mongolia, Hilton Worldwide. “This year marks the 25th anniversary of Hilton Worldwide’s presence in mainland China and this hotel reinforces our continued commitment to the market and the growing success of the DoubleTree by Hilton brand throughout China.”

Other hotel amenities include an LCD flat-screen television with international satellite TV stations, in-room climate controls, the signature DoubleTree by Hilton Sweet Dreams bed, and a marble bathroom featuring a rain shower. Guests will also enjoy a 24-hour fitness center and free wired and wireless internet access available throughout the hotel’s public spaces and guestrooms.
