Are Booking Trends Moving Away from OTAs?

    Online travel agencies have reigned supreme over the last several years, as tech-savvy guests look for quick and easy ways to book trips. But now, it would seem as though the tide is turning, and OTAs are falling slightly out of trend. Last month, a survey from MMGY Global found that 32 percent of travelers now visit direct provider websites—up 6 percent from 2015—indicating a move away from OTAs. Additionally, consumers are looking for advice from tried-and-true human travel agents, with 28 percent of millennials surveyed saying they had consulted a traditional travel agent last year and 30 percent planning to do so in the next two years.
