Airbnb Sounds Off on Tax Issues

    This week, Airbnb wrote to AH&LA President Katherine Lugar to refute reports claiming that the homesharing company is trying to avoid taxes in top markets. However, the letter did not address Airbnb’s share of revenue generated by multi-unit or full-time operators–essentially illegal hotels, operating without being taxed like hotels are.
