The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) this week released its 2018 Annual Report, highlighting the hospitality industry association’s top accomplishments for the year.
1Reined in short-term rentals
AHLA helped secure regulations reining in short-term rentals in major markets across the country in 2018. Markets that advanced legislation and enforcement efforts to rein in short-term rentals in 2018 include New York, Boston, San Diego, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles.
2Launched ‘The Five-Star Promise’
Last September, AHLA launched ‘The Five-Star Promise,’ the hospitality industry’s commitment to employee safety.
3Grew workforce and career development programs
Last year, AHLA grew its workforce and career development programs to support the hospitality industry, including apprenticeship and cost-free college and training programs.
4Raised $2 Million for HotelPAC
This election cycle, AHLA successfully raised $2 million for HotelPAC.
5Member engagement and growth
AHLA reported that its fifth biggest accomplishment in 2018 was strong member engagement across the industry while continuing to build on its historic growth.
