Drake Oak Brook Hotel Reopens Under FHG Management

ROSEMONT, Ill.—First Hospitality Group announced today that under its management, The Drake Oak Brook hotel in Oak Brook, Ill., has officially reopened for business after undergoing extensive renovations. The independent boutique hotel, owned by Jim and Tely Nagle, is now accepting guests and reservations for its 84 guestrooms and will open its 50 suites later this year.

Originally built in 1961 as the suburban counterpart to Chicago’s famous Drake Hotel, the Drake Oak Brook has always catered to a sophisticated and upscale clientele. The property’s traditional elegance and old world feel have been preserved by the recent revitalization project which involved the exterior 11,300-square-foot meeting space, 2,000-square-foot outdoor patio, office space, and guestrooms.

“We are pleased to be able to honor the Drake Oak Brook’s history by highlighting its unique traits,” said First Hospitality Group President and CEO Bob Habeeb. “We’ve kept the original murals and still offer the coveted “Bookbinders soup” that has become a staple with the local community.”

Other unique details of the property include a piece of floral “floating” artwork composed of 1,000 pieces of glass and a gold-leafed table in the lobby designed by an artist who’s work also appears in the Vatican.

The boutique hotel provides easy access to downtown Chicago and O’Hare airport. It is also conveniently located near the headquarters of several major corporations, golf, and polo resorts and Oakbrook Center for shopping.
