Condé Nast Traveler has released its hotel “Hot List” for 2014. Of the 510 properties considered in 400 cities and 93 countries, they selected 33 favorites that debuted in the past year. The criteria are a sense of place, personality, and institution. U.S. properties on the list include Palihouse Santa Monica in California (Best New Family Friendly Hotels); Andaz Maui at Wailea in Hawaii and Salt House Inn in Provincetown, Mass. (“Best New Beach Hotels”); The Dean in Providence, R.I., The Line in Los Angeles, Calif., The Marlton in New York City (Best New Bargain Hotels); Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles (Best New Design Hotels); and Zero George Street in Charleston, S.C., and The Thompson Chicago (Best New Food Hotels).
