San Antonio’s Hotel Contessa Finishes Renovation

SAN ANTONIO— The Four Diamond 265-room Hotel Contessa, located on the banks of San Antonio’s River Walk, has completed an extensive, nine-month renovation program. Director of sales & marketing Jerry Jensen made the announcement.

The hotel opened in December 2005 and is owned by Hixon Properties and Silver Ventures. Benchmark Hospitality International operates Hotel Contessa as part of the company’s Benchmark Resorts & Hotels portfolio.

The refurbishment project included enhancements to Hotel Contessa’s 10,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, including the 2,277-square-foot Contessa Ballroom and 10 conference rooms. New color palettes of subtle grays, Mediterranean blues, vibrant oranges with shades of ecru, maroon, and olive all coincide in different patterns and styles throughout meeting rooms for a modern touch in keeping with the hotel’s Mediterranean-style architecture and ambiance. The refreshed meeting rooms and foyers received new carpeting, paint, artwork, and lighting fixtures. Some meeting rooms feature hand-carved wood paneling or chair railings that highlight the new cream/ecru-colored walls. Existing features include complimentary Wi-Fi, ergonomic chairs, glare-free lighting, soundproofing, and conference tables with a non-reflective, hard writing surface. Many of Contessa’s breakout rooms feature views or terraces framed by towering cypress and live oak trees that line the River Walk.

Each of Contessa’s 265 guest rooms were extensively renewed with new couches and chairs in both the bedroom and dining room, new floor lamps and lighting fixtures on the walls, window treatments, bed quilts, artwork, new coffee tables, dining room tables, dressers, TV stands, night stands, and new desks. Additionally, all bathrooms received new tile and new showers. Carpeting was also replaced in those suites that do not have hardwood floors.
