Hilton Chicago Oak Brook Hills Resort Names Raina Spasov General Manager

CHICAGO—Somnium Hospitality Group announced the appointment of Raina Spasov as general manager at the Hilton Chicago Oak Brook Hills Resort. In her new role, Raina will oversee all aspects of the resort’s operations.

With over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Raina brings knowledge of the industry to her position, specifically to the Oak Brook Hills Resort where she began working in 2013 as an executive assistant. Over the next 10 years, she served as the operations manager, director of rooms, assistant director of sales and marketing, and resort manager before being named the new general manager in January 2024.

Steven Ellingsen, president of Somnium Hospitality Group, which took over management of the Hilton Chicago Oak Brooks Hills Resort in late 2023, said, “She is dedicated to creating a positive work environment for the resort’s staff, fostering teamwork and collaboration. Raina’s commitment to excellence will further enhance the Resort’s reputation as a premier destination for leisure and business travelers.”

Spasov, who first came to the United States in 2005 as an exchange student from her native Bulgaria, said, “I look forward to working with the talented team here to continue providing exceptional experiences for our guests. The opportunities I’ve been given to be exposed to many areas of the resort, and being able to work in operations for the majority of the time, have made me fall in love with hospitality. I’m so proud to work alongside such a passionate group of people.”
