Courtyard Hotel Opens in Times Square

NEW YORK—Courtyard by Marriott opened a 224-room property in Times Square. This is the newest Courtyard in the area featuring the Refreshing Business lobby environment, offering open and flexible space containing media pods, Wi-FI, and a variety of seating zones. The hotel will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by Stonebridge Companies of Englewood, Colo.

“From day one, Courtyard has prided itself as a brand that listens to what business travelers want from a hotel,” said Janis Milham, vice president and global brand manager, Courtyard. “Guests want more control and choice with services and amenities that create a healthy balance between working and relaxing. The Courtyard lobby invites guests to get out of their rooms to work, socialize or be entertained, whether traveling alone or with colleagues.”

The open hotel lobby is designed with shades of blue, green, orange, and red. The traditional front desk is replaced with separate welcome pedestals, and seating options range from a communal table to more private media booths with high-definition televisions. The space also offers electrical outlets to power digital devices and a business library with several computer terminals and a printer. The hotel offers The Bistro, a dining concept that offers breakfast and light evening fare, including snacks, cocktails, wine, and beer. The Market also provides a 24-7 shop for snacks, beverages, and sundries.

The 27-story hotel features an outdoor atrium with seating for 18, a fitness center, guest laundry, and 750 square feet of meeting space to accommodate functions of up to 40 people.
