GREENBELT, Md.—Chesapeake Hospitality has added management of the Holiday Inn Frederick-Conference Center to its full-service management portfolio.
Located just five minutes away from historic downtown Frederick, Md., the property’s new ownership is expected to undertake a total hotel renovation—including interior and exterior upgrades. The hotel currently features 155 guestrooms, each equipped with the new Simply Smart bedding collection and complimentary high speed wireless internet access, an indoor recreation center with an indoor pool, sauna, whirlpool and miniature golf, 13,000 square feet of meeting and convention space for up to 1,000 people, a full-service restaurant, fitness center, and 24-hour business center.
“The Holiday Inn Frederick-Conference Center offers guests an abundance of amenities convenient to nearby attractions—such as the adjoining Francis Scott Key Mall, downtown Frederick, and numerous Civil War heritage sites,” said Kim Sims, president of Chesapeake Hospitality. “With our management team’s extensive experience managing large scale renovation projects, we will create a fresh new environment for travelers while improving the property’s product, services, and reputation.”
The addition of the Holiday Inn Frederick-Conference Center brings the total number of hotels managed by Chesapeake Hospitality to 26. The company has signed seven new management contracts this year totaling nearly 1,200 rooms, including historical assets and several deep-turn projects that involve re-branding. The company experienced total portfolio RevPAR growth of 6.4 percent in the first half of the year and a same-property EBITDA growth increase of 13.3 percent over 2013.
