NEW YORK—Following five years of extensive planning, the new InterContinental Davos opened its doors just in time for the start of 2014. With its futuristic façade, the new building, situated high above Lake Davos, brings new accomomdations to the Alpine region.
The property features 216 individually appointed guestrooms and suites, each with a private balcony; a 12,000 square foot spa; a variety of sports outfitters and activities; as well as several food and beverage options; and state-of-the-art conference facilities. For younger guests the property is also home to Globini Kids Club and Sixteenhundred Teens Club.
With its façade of gold-colored steel elements, the oval-shaped InterContinental Davos stands out among the white slopes, situated at the mouth of the Flüela Pass.
Dining options at InterContinental Davos include the Brasserie Capricorn, the restaurant Matsu with its fusion of Asian alpine cuisine, and the lounge bar, Nuts&Co. In Studio Grigio on the top floor, guests are served the culinary specialties with a panoramic alpine view. The property also features over 13,000 square feet of meeting facilities.
In the Globini Kids Club, children enjoy play areas spread across two floors. While in the Sixteenhundred Teens Club, teenagers find a choice of creative entertainment options, including a movie theater. The in-house Angerer Sports Shop carries collections famous brand names, as well as a wide range of winter sports equipment. There is a rental station offering snowboard and cross-country ski equipment, as well as bicycle rental.
As a “Ski-Label” hotel, the InterContinental Davos cooperates with Davos Klosters to offer guests a number of additional tours, free of charge. Guests can explore the surrounding skiing area accompanied by local mountain guides.
