Noble House to Manage Bernardus Lodge

SEATTLE—Noble House Hotels and Resorts—a collection of luxury hotels and resorts in city and resort destinations—has assumed management of Bernardus Lodge, Carmel Valley, Calif. As the 19th addition to the Noble House Hotels and Resorts (NHHR) hospitality portfolio, the 57-room Bernardus Lodge features 26 acres of grape vines and lavender in sunny California.

“Already recognized as one of the best resorts in California, our goal is to improve the guest experience and transform this property into one of the most memorable hotels in the country,” said Pat Colee, founder of Noble House Hotels and Resorts. “We’re excited to partner with this charming and distinctive property and proud to welcome it to the collection of Noble House Hotels and Resorts.”

Opened in 1999 by Benardus Pon as a European-style bespoke retreat, the award-winning Lodge will retain its name, as a new era in upgrades and expansion are ushered in. Included in the sale is the 26-acre Lodge and facilities, award-winning 60-seat Marinus restaurant under chef Cal Stamenov, Wicket’s Bistro, and The Spa at Bernardus Lodge. Bernardus Vineyard and Winery and Bernardus Winery Tasting Room in Carmel Valley are not included in the sale and will continue to operate under Pon’s management team. As agreed to in the sale, the majority of Bernardus Lodge employees will be retained.

Bernardus Lodge offers 57 guestrooms, award-winning dining, the signature Spa at Bernardus Lodge, two swimming pools, and an alfresco bocce court.
