High-end NYC Hotels House Homeless

    With space in homeless shelters extremely limited, New York City has been increasingly falling back on booking hotel rooms to get a roof over people’s heads. And, some of the hotels tapped by the city are high-end properties like the New Yorker, the Excelsior, and The Manhattan at Times Square. According to The NY Post, the city’s “Shelter Scorecard” for February indicated that 1,453 hotel rooms housed homeless in February 2017 and there are currently 7,500 homeless people staying in NYC Hotels.
