PARK CITY, Utah—Gemstone Hotels & Resorts, a full-service hotel management company, today announced the opening of the European-style Beachwalk Resort on the intercoastal waterway in Hallandale, Fla. The $150 million, 33-story resort is the latest project by The Related Group of Miami, Fla., and comprises 300 units, 216 of which are divisible two-bedroom suites. It is the first of three Broward County projects currently under development by The Related Group that Gemstone will operate.
“The Beachwalk Resort is in the heart of everything visitors want from a South Florida vacation,” said Jeff McIntyre, principal of Gemstone. “An amenity-rich resort with this combination of location, high-style, and casual vibe is certain to resonate with both domestic and international vactioners who travel here for world-class shopping, beautiful weather, sandy beaches, racetracks, gaming, and more.”
Beachwalk bears many of the design hallmarks of The Related Group’s residential projects, including interiors designed by Pininfarina using soft earthy palettes of white and brown and featuring contemporary Italian furnishings. The hotel features original works of art from the personal collection of Jorge Pérez, patron of the Pérez Art Museum Miami.
The resort owners and guests enjoy a three-story beach club with pool, lockers, showers, restrooms, an outdoor bar, and restaurant with chaise service and beach facilities, all accessible by a complimentary, electric trolley. Other highlights include an infinity edged pool, a fitness center, complimentary bicycles for city touring, grocery shopping services, and a complimentary shuttle service to the Hollywood Broadwalk, Gulfstream Park Racing & Casino, and Aventura Mall.
