Trump Organization Sues Chef José Andrés for Breaking Deal

The Trump Organization has filed a $10 million lawsuit against chef José Andrés for damages related to pulling his planned restaurant from Donald Trump’s forthcoming luxury hotel in Washington, D.C.’s Old Post Office Pavilion. Andrés and fellow chef Geoffrey Zakarian both backed out of deals with the company in early July following Trump’s controversial comments about immigration.

The Trump Organization’s suit is against Andrés’ ThinkFoodGroup, citing that Trump’s political beliefs are not relevant to business deals, according to a Politico article. Andrés signed a 10-year lease with the Trump Organization.
