Following Donald Trump’s inflammatory comments about Mexican immigrants, a number of hotel companies severed ties with Trump Hotel Collection. Celebrity chefs José Andrés and Geoffrey Zakarian, both set to open restaurants in the forthcoming Trump Hotel in Washington, D.C.’s Old Post Office, dropped out of the project this summer, but Trump has now found a replacement restaurateur, reports The Washington Post.
BLT Prime, a high-end spin-off of the already luxurious BLT Steak chain, will fill the vacated space.
“There is a tremendous amount of interest and buzz surrounding Trump International Hotel, Washington, D.C. We are confident that BLT Prime is the perfect fit and we are thrilled with our decision to partner with them,” Donald Trump Jr., executive vice president of development and acquisitions for the Trump Organization, said in a joint statement with BLT Prime’s owner ESquared Hospitality.
