Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group made some major announcements last week, as the company rolled out plans for two new brands at its annual business conference for full-service brands. But amidst all of the excitement for the new Radisson Red and Quorvus Collection, Carlson Rezidor quietly let go of a licensing agreement with luxury fashion house Missoni.
The license agreement officially terminated at the end of last year, and Carlson Rezidor will no longer be developing Hotel Missoni properties. The existing properties—Hotel Missoni Edinburgh and Hotel Missoni Kuwait—will cease to operate under the Hotel Missoni brand in June.
In a statement, Carlson Rezidor CEO Wolfgang M. Neumann said: “This decision is in line with our long-term strategy and focus on our core brands Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson. It is equally aligned with the redefinition of Carlson Rezidor’s global brand portfolio. We would like to thank Missoni for their trust in our group and the close cooperation over the past years.”
“The Hotel Missoni adventure in partnership with Rezidor Group has been a positive and important experience for us. After years of collaboration, today our paths are splitting with Missoni having developed new strategic visions in the field of interior design and hospitality” added Alberto Piantoni, CEO of Missoni.
