UBUD, BALI—Solís by Capella Hotel Group announced today the development and opening of the Solís Ubud Resort & Spa in 2017. Fresh from the debut of its first hotel in China in March (the Han Yue Lou Hotel Nanjing), this latest announcement signifies the expansion of the Solís brand with further luxury hotels scheduled to open in Guangzhou, China, and Doha, Qatar (both opening in 2015). The Ubud property will be designed by Denton Corker Marshall, an award-winning international practice that has produced innovative, memorable architecture and urban design such as The Melbourne Museum and The Stonehenge Visitor Center which is located near the important World Heritage Site.
“Enjoying the serenity of Ubud, the heart of Bali, with all its beautiful nature and amazing local culture is an unforgettable experience. We believe that with what this brand can offer, not to mention its famous Auriga spa, is the perfect choice to provide such memorable journey for the guests,” said Indira Hartarto, owner, PT Mustika Adiperkasa.
“Solís Ubud has been designed to blend in seamlessly with the area’s beautiful natural surroundings,” said Horst Schulze, chairman and CEO, Capella Hotel Group. “The focus of this property, like other Solís hotels, is to be ingrained deeply in the Balinese way of life—visitors to Ubud will be able to fully immerse themselves in such a unique experience and interact with the warm and welcoming people of Bali.”
Solís Ubud is located in the heart of the cultural center of Bali. Set amidst the rice paddy fields along the Wos River, this 108-key hotel employs a unique and poetic architecture inspired by the centuries of colorful Balinese traditional processions and celebrations. The property’s guestrooms, along with its villas and “villa-in-the-sky” residences, will showcase panoramic views and scenic riverfront experiences. Solís Ubud will also offer two themed restaurants delivering cuisine deeply rooted in Balinese food culture and a “royal bath” spa with a holistic focus. The hotel will offer guests convenient access to Ubud’s attractions, arts and culture related activities, verdant environments and villages, and ancient sites.
