Nobu Hotels to Make European Debut in England

Opening in June 2017, located in the heart of London’s artistic quarter, Nobu Hotel Shoreditch is the first European hotel from the internationally renowned Nobu Hotels brand. The hotel’s 143 guest rooms and 7 suites offer a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of one of the city’s most culturally significant districts, as well as an iconic dining experience at the brand new Nobu Shoreditch restaurant.

Set back from the lively cultural hub of Great Eastern Street, Nobu Hotel Shoreditch offers a dynamic blend of Nobu’s signature east-meets-west philosophy and Shoreditch’s creative and industrial energy. As well as an exclusive spa and wellness area, guests can take advantage of a series of innovative culinary experiences, specially created for Nobu Shoreditch, available not only in London’s newest Nobu restaurant, but across the lobby bar, extensive meeting spaces, and 24-hour in-room dining.

The contemporary and distinctive design of Nobu Hotel Shoreditch marks it as one of East London’s most interesting attributes. The materiality of the property references its Shoreditch location and the history of one of London’s most culturally rich districts.

The expressive design for the new Nobu Hotel Shoreditch is the result of the collective efforts of Ron Arad Architects and Ben Adams Architects. The original scheme, by Ron Arad Architects, features overhanging floor slabs and cantilevered steel beams forming a frayed edge to the east, where a landscaped garden is terraced to provide natural light to the restaurant space. Ron Arad Architects left the project in 2013 and Ben Adams Architects were appointed in December 2013 to develop the design and complete the project.

The 240-seat Nobu Shoreditch restaurant was designed by Studio PCH. The interior of the hotel was designed by local designers, Studio Mica. All parties worked in collaboration to create a seamless transition between the hotel and the restaurant.

Giving back to the local area, Nobu Hotel Shoreditch will be opening its stunning pocket garden, creating a public space between the vibrant streets and the calmness of the hotel, offering an oasis in the hectic heart of East London.
