While it seems that every new hotel property entering the market is also home to a super trendy rooftop bar, many neighborhoods are starting to push back against this design element. The open air setups of these bars have the potential to disrupt nearby residents when partying gets out of hand and noise levels get too high. Several hotels in New York City have had to deal with opposition from locals, and a property in Hollywood, Calif., got approval from the city, only to have those approvals appealed by neighborhood groups.
